REACTION PAPERS
In two or three paragraphs where you reflect on the topic discussed in the classroom at each unit. Think of real-life issues and try to relate the contents that we discuss with meaningful personal or social experiences or conflicts.
THE ORAL PRESENTATIONS ON FLIPGRID
You have to post a three-minute video on Flipgrid showing your understanding of one of the stories you have read each week.
1. The first minute, you briefly retell the story.
2. The second minute, you explain the meaning, the message the story conveys.
3. The third and last minute, you relate the story and its message to lived or witnessed personal experiences, cultural, social, political, or religious issues.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA FOR THE PRESENTATIONS ON FLIPGRID
- The presentation is clear and easy to follow: easy to identify and understand a). the introduction, b). the development of the story, c). the end, and d). the presenter's personal reaction. (40%)
- The presenter looks natural. (10%)
- The presenter shows evidence of having understood the story and its message. (20%)
- Place, time, and characters in the story are identified and related to real-life events (20%)
- The presenter spends the assigned time in his or her presentation. (10%)
THE PARTIAL TEST
The partial test will be held after the discussions on units 3, 4, 5, and 6. Same as the quizzes, we will be testing vocabulary. In addition to that, we are going to respond to reading comprehension exercises related to the content we have covered in the face-to-face meetings.
THE FINAL TEST
This test is mostly devoted to reading comprehension questions. You will be confronted to short reading passages or articles and different types of questions that show your reading skills on procedures such as identifying specific details, understanding the general idea, making inferences, identifying chronological order, and differentiating fact from opinion.
